Benaglio’s confidence (and updates from Feusisberg)

After spending yesterday with his family Benaglio, that gave him an opportunity to clear his mind following Saturday’s drama, is ready for the win-or-lose fight with Turkey.

Full of confidence ahead of Wednesday’s game he speaks to the Swiss media: “We played a very good game against the Czechs. Our defence was defeated by mere lack of luck. There isn’t a reason to stop trying that offside-trap. In attack we showed that we had a great potential. Even without Frei we can still score.

At the time of the Istanbul playoff Benaglio was playing for the Under-21: “We have to forget what happened in Istanbul. I can guarantee that no one of the squad is talking about that. It’s certainly not my problem. Wednesday’s gae will be totally different. It’s a 90-minute final. The winner is the only one who has a right to believe”.

He admits that he doesn’t yet truly know the characteristics of the Turkish players: “We still have two days to work on that. The written report of the observer will help us.”

Last but not least his thoughts concerning Muller were extremely positive: “Saturday’s game didn’t surprise me. I knew he’d find his standards again.”

Despite small injuries, Behrami and Streller will be available for Wednesday’s game.
