Valon Behrami

Here a link to an interview with Valon Behrami, the 21-year-old Swiss Midfield player with Kosovo origins who is playing for Lazio Roma. The interview dates back to March, but is still an interesting read. For me especially insightful, the part where he describes how he became a player for the Swiss and not for the Albanian national team. Even though he is playing since less than one year for Switzerland, he already made a big impression on everyone in Switzerland. Kosovo-Albanians make out the biggest single immigrant group in Switzerland. Their integration into everyday life has not always been very smooth and I do hope people like Valon can help bridging the gap and bring respect for each other. And if that sounds too idealistic, I hope he scores heaps of goals for Switzerland during the World Cup!
