Switzerland against Drogba & Co.
This Saturday Switzerland will play a friendly game against Ivory Coast in Basle. As Ivory Coast is probably the strongest African team, it will be interesting to see how well the Swiss are prepared for World Cup glory. Coach Kuhn already announced that Saturday’s line-up will show some experimenting. Some regulars will be rested and young players will get a chance to show their skills. The big question for me is, will Kuhn hold on to much criticized goalkeeper Zubi (Zuberbühler) or will he try out Fabio Coltorti from Swiss club Grasshoppers Zurich. Zubi recently had a series of terrible goal keeping mistakes which in any other country would have resulted to him having been kicked out of the team. I hope Kuhn’s shows real leadership and gives Coltorti a chance to challenge Zubi. For more information about Zubi, read the well-written player profile on Fifaworldcup website.

Goalkeepers seems to be the major problem not only in Switzerland. Look over to Germany or France. Goalkeepers are excentric, since they have to be 90 minutes on high alert. If the make the wrong decicision
you probably cannot correct it.
For Switzerland if have to admit
Koebi Kuhn hold on too long at Zuberbühler. But i understand him, because we really have a “goalie” problem. To bring a new unexperienced player like Coltorti might calm down the Swiss press. But we don’t know how important this “Zubi” is for the Swiss team. I think now it’s too late to make a changement. My suggest is buy an american goalkeeper, naturalize him immediatelly and we will not have this problem anymore, since Americans grew up with base ball, they know how to hold a ball. I hope Zubi will stay in the goal, because
it is even a bigger risk to take an unexperienced one. Anyway we have a worldclass defence line which can help this hoples guy to survive.
