Ah well…

It’s 5.39 am here in Perth, Australia…and I’m not going to comment on the game yet. I need to grab some sleep before going to work. I won’t be a sore loser either – as other fans have been. The only thing I say right now is:

CONGRATULATIONS UKRAINE!

See you all at European Championships 2008…

let me (the blogger for Ukraine) be first to congratulate you guys on a fantastic performance, I do not care what others say, boring game my ass, I was on the edge of my seat and it could have gone either way, TRULY a worthy opponent, with all my heart I respect Switzerland and will continue to ignore the judgement of others about this game. (who’s teams are out and they wish to cry on somebody’s shoulder). I want Ukraine to strike down on Italy, so that the Swiss are comfortable that they lost to a good team.

I also want to say that you guys played extremely well. Either team could have advanced, but I guess Ukraine was more lucky tonight. And all those who said the game was boring, can really go to hell.

Today I’ve actually made some really cool Swiss friends.

Cheers!

Andriy: Thanks. But I do understand that this game was mostly just interesting to Swiss and Ukrainians. But such is football: 1. success and then you can talk about beautiful play. Ask the Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese – they know all about it, but the other way around. Go Spain!

And I will delete all insults and conspiracy theorists. This is a football blog. Loosing is part of it and if you can’t deal with it, then you should go watch a movie.

As a support of the U.S and Ukraine team, I’d like to congratulate the Swiss team on the well-played game and a good tournament. Losing on penalties is tough.

It was actually a whale of a game, as far as I am concerned. Both teams played their hearts out.

See you at Euro2008.

Well done swiss and ukraine for a well played game!
I have to say it was a boring game. However, well done for getting in to 16 round. Better luck next time.

Well, mate if you are referring to the korean fans, that’s not very nice of you. Although a lot of korean fans have been occasionally and are still moaning about the last game, there was no dram in this game. So there is no reason for anybody to be sore losers.
I sort of understand why korean fans are like that.

Results (2nd Stage): Switzerland vs Ukraine

Happiness vs Sadness. Relief vs Disbelief. Triumph vs Defeat.

Both teams were heavily matched who relied on their midfield strength to win the ball for a swift counterattack anchored on each team’s strikers. As such was the story of Switzerlan…
