Provided by Le Matin Online and UEFA
The 19th of June is Michel Pont’s birthday but it’s also the day of a quarter-final.

If one looks at the statistics of the [...]

Swiss Epilogue: A National Tragedy wrought by questionable Referees and Unbelievable Misfortune

June 11th, 2008 | By: Jan | 21 Comments »

A rain more painful than the mocking storm of Basel falls all over Switzerland. From frantic expectation to a shocking disillusion the whole country is either in tears or lost in disbelief.
When a draw seemed to be too little for Switzerland but enough to keep hopes alive, Arda’s lucky shot ricocheted over that national [...]

100,000 crazy Dutch fans in Bern

June 10th, 2008 | By: Jan | No Comments »

Almost 100,00 people were celebrating the Oranje triumph yesterday in Bern.
During the game it was almost impossible to enter the fanzones where the oranje fans outnumbered the italian ones. Large groups of fans who had failed to enter the fanzones were searching for every possible TV screen in the Old Town.
From 20 to 30 [...]
